THE GOVERNMENT OF SIR FUBARA HAS ACCOUNTABILITY AS ITS CORE VALUE.... DR. AGALA.

The Acting Executive Secretary of Rivers State Contributory Health Protection Programme [RIVCHPP], Dr. Vetty Agala has reiterated that the government of Sir Siminialayi Fubara,  GSSRS,  is a government that has accountability as its number one core value, whether as a government agency or as individual officers working with integrity.

Dr. Agala, who made the declaration when RIVCHPP had an interactive session with private health providers that the agency is collaborating with to provide quality healthcare services to its enrolees in Port Harcourt recently, noted that though the agency is not out for profit making purposes,  it would create the best environment for the private healthcare providers, whose major interest is profit making,  to operate and give Rivers people quality healthcare services at affordable rates.
The RIVCHPP Executive Secretary informed that the agency is willing to work with the private health care providers it has assessed their facilities,  thanking them for agreeing to partner the state
government to provide adequate and affordable health care to Rivers people.

Dr. Agala stated that though most private organisations are usually sceptical about the workings of government agencies and bodies,  she pleaded that RIVCHPP should be given the benefits of doubt, assuring the private health providers of maximum benefits and cooperation, especially in the areas of the terms of agreement and tarrifs to be paid for medical and healthcare services for enrollees of the agency.

Speaking at the sidelines of the session,  the Chief Medical Director of Arik Mission Hospital,  Ada Gearge Area of Port Harcourt,  Dr. Idoro Sylvester, who was excited with the meeting and how far RIVCHPP has been proactive in getting quality health care services for its enrollees,  said that the private providers have had the opportunity to chart a new course with RVCHPP,  expressing optimism that they would use their facilities to help the agency provide global healthcare services for Rivers people.
Dr. Sylvester commended the agency for the cordial relationship created so far, looking forward to more robust relationships.

Also Speaking with the press,  Surgeon Commander T S Tijani of Naval Medical Centre, Onne, was grateful for the opportunity of the meeting,  which he described as an eye-opener and very educative.

Surgeon Commander Tijani was very elated by the responsiveness of Rivers State government in forming the health insurance agency,  said that he was greatly impressed by the well-organised functioning of RIVCHPP,  expressing the hope that suggestions made will be put into action  even as he expressed the joy of the Naval Medical Centre,  Onne, to be part of the success story of RIVCHPP.

The highlight of the session was lectures,  questions and answers sessions.
