The Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminialayi Fubara, GSSRS, has fulfilled his promise of providing transformers to ease the power challenges faced in parts of the state.
On Tuesday, 7th January, 2025, in fulfilment of the Governor's promise of adequate power supply, a brand new transformer was delivered to the premises of the remodelled Waterlines Building in Port Harcourt, to ease the power challenges faced by both state and federal government departments and agencies operating from the premises.
The gifting of a transformer at the beginning of the year was seen by the people, especially those doing business within the Waterlines premises, as a New Year gift, which really got them excited.
Speaking during the delivery of the transformer, the Acting Executive Secretary of Rivers Contributory Health Protection Programme (RIVCHPP), Dr Vetty Agala, whose office is in the premises to also enjoy the brand new transformer, thanked Sir Siminialayi Fubara, GSSRS, for not only making RIVCHPP functional and approving an office space within the remodelled Waterlines Building for the agency, but also the gifting of a transformer to put an end to whatever power challenges that occupants of the premises may have been faced with.
Dr. Agala reiterated that health is critical, thanking Governor Fubara for always prioritising health as a cardinal focus of his government .
The RIVCHPP boss informed that the agency, within the nine months of its coming to stay, has taken care of the health financial needs of over 67,000 Rivers residents, thanking the Governor for implementing the health insurance law in the state, which has given impetus to the agency to touch lives in consonance with the Governor's mantra of making the people first.
An excited Dr. Agala said that the newly delivered transformer would help to make the work of the agency, which is mainly digitalised, to become seamless as there will now be regular power supply to the offices.
Speaking during the delivery of the transformer, the state Commissioner for Power, Hon. Solomon Abel Eke, who commended the proactive stance of Sir Siminialayi Fubara, GSSRS, and his leadership style of always ensuring that promises made are kept as quickly as possible, called upon the departments and agencies within the remodelled Waterlines House to ensure proper maintenance and utilisation of the transformer.
Hon. Eke also re-echoed the governor's vision of seeing to it that all parts of the state enjoy constant power supply to ease business and bring about improved welfare of the people.
